Operation-Mobility
Operation-Mobility is a charitable project launched by China Charity Federation in cooperation with the World Wheelchair Foundation in 2003. Our aim is to mobilize all the resources in the community and to deliver wheelchairs to handicapped people who cannot afford to buy one. So far, we have allocated about 20,000 wheelchairs throughout China, each costing approximately $55.00. In 2006, CCF received 9,042 wheelchairs, worth $501,576,00, from which we allocated 5,484 wheelchairs in Jilin, Liaoning, Sichuan, Guizhou and other areas. For every wheelchair China Charity Federation and its affiliates raise funds to buy, the World Wheelchair Foundation matches one wheelchair free of charge.
The LDS Charity Association has also cooperated with CCF issuing 3,550 wheelchairs in Shangdong, Hubei, Anhui, Inner Mongolia and nine other provinces and autonomous regions. The wheelchairs are all in high quality. All the designated wheelchair manufacturers have received both domestic and international quality certificates.
