About Us

China Charity Federation (CCF) is a nationwide non-governmental charity organization. It was established in 1994, with approval from the Chinese government, and was legally registered as an independent entity. Its members, all of whom work on a voluntary basis, include private citizens, businesses, and social institutions interested in charitable causes. There are over 260 affiliates of CCF throughout China. The current president of CCF is Mr. Baojun Fan, member of the Standing Committee CPPCC, former Deputy Secretary of Party Leadership Group and Deputy Minister of Civil Affairs.

Since the founding of CCF, it has maintained its goals of broadening charitable work in various fields and increasing public awareness of the great difficulties faced by many members of our society. It has given wholehearted loyalty to China’s charitable concerns. CCF’s many humanitarian acts have drawn extensive social attention and have won the trust and support of the government.

In recent years, CCF has been actively involved in humanitarian activities that have brought worldwide attention. Our programs include the following areas, which have resulted in great social impact:

  • Delivering much needed assistance at the scene of natural disasters,
  • Equipping the handicapped to better cope with their limitations,
  • Caring for orphans and the aged that would otherwise be neglected,
  • Providing medical equipment and supplies to relieve and prevent illness,
  • Aiding education so that everyone can be well educated
  • Generally alleviating sufferings and helping people to help themselves.

CCF seeks opportunities to work together with other organizations. At present, CCF has established relations with about 200 charity organizations throughout 46 countries, cooperating on many programs. CCF became the only Chinese member of United Way International (UWI) in 1998. Being one of the biggest and most influential charitable organziations in China, CCF has become a bridge linking foreign friends and overseas Chinese with the Chinese people.

China has a long history of performing charitable acts. It is well known for its tradition of helping those in trouble and for the respect and care given to old and young alike. We cherish these characteristics as our best virtue and regard our culture as one of true charity, which will last for many generations. CCF gives this culture a new vision by its commitment to charitable causes. We are devoted to making meaningful charity work in China grow and develop in the new century so that the China charity tree will stay green forever.
